It feels like far too long since we took to the rostrum but the atmosphere was the usual balance of good humour and business as Saturday’s auction got under way. The busy sale room welcomed a room full of regulars and plenty of people new to the joys of buying at auction. As ever we started with a great range of silver and some great prices were achieved for our customers. One interesting lot a silver Russian cigarette case from World War One sold for £600 and is heading back to Russia. We then moved on to jewellery and as ever great prices were achieved for plenty of items including charm bracelets and some lovely rings. Toys, coins, bank notes all went well, and even more encouraging was the sale of furniture that improved on last year, quality and interesting items sell. We always like the odd items to our pigeon lamp attracted support and the fair ground sign was a popular item with many wanting it as a House sign. So what does February have in store for us, a timed only auction will be up for the middle of the month, along with an appraisal day on Saturday 10th from 10 am until 4 pm. We are starting to take consignments for our ‘All things Windsor’ auction in April so why not have a dig around for items with a Windsor feel. If you do have items that you would like to consign to one of our sales please give us a call on 01753 868076 or email us at sales@windsorauctions.co.uk and our team will look after you. We look forward to seeing during the month...
