July 2017 ‘A View From The Rostrum’

Saturday’s Auction was a success on two levels, great prices were achieved for our many clients for a wide variety of lots and we welcomed the team from Celebrity Antiques Road Trip.

Experts Philip Serrell and James Braxton had guided their celebrity charges, John Sergeant and Peter White through purchasing a wide range of items that drew a range of reactions from our Auctioneers Harry and Simon, from praise to surprise and you will have to wait until February to see what happened and who was right or wrong!!!

It is always lovely when there is a great atmosphere in the room and there is no surprise that this leads to great prices being achieved, but what had the buyers interested? Gold and silver items continued to do well with a wide variety being bought by a broad church of buyers.

A Meissen Lady attracted plenty of interest and a good price £1700 including buyers commission

One of our long term clients had consigned a variety of wines and ports to the auction and these all achieved great prices with one case destined for a world famous client.

And three cases of port achieving in excess of £1400 each before buyers commissions.

A range of Victorian oils that were a late addition to the sale all sold well to both private buyers and into the trade where they will already be winging their way to potential buyers we are sure.

So our next sale is on August 19th and if you wish to be part of the continued growth and success of our Auctions please do not hesitate to contact us either by email on 01753 868076 or with images of items via email at sales@windsorauctions.co.uk
