A Feelgood Story To Start The Week

Windsor Auctions sees great success on a bronze figure in first auction
welcoming people back in the room

Windsor Auctions Antiques and Collectables sale on Saturday 24th April saw a wide range of interesting items from private collections, dealer sales and house clearances. Although auctions continued online throughout lockdown – last weekend was the first sale Windsor
Auctions were able to welcome people back into the room and the team couldn’t be happier.

The stand out success of the sale was a single bronze, consigned by a lady who is downsizing and moving home, that she bought for only 50p.

A last minute entry and catalogued as After Giacomo Zoffoli (c.1731-1785) Italian, “Flore Farnese”, signed, a green patina bronze. Although estimated at £200 to £400, the hammer went down after five minutes of bidding in the room, on the internet and via multiple phone lines at £5500.

Auctioneer Harry Ballin said ‘Our client is delighted and this windfall will certainly help with her moving costs’

‘As this is the first sale that we have been able due to current constrictions to welcome customers back in to the room it is great that a successful auction had this great story as well’
