Saturday 24th February, seems such a long way away as we have had such a busy time of it post sale , organising the shipping of all lots sold, arranging collections for other customers and chatting with customers regarding their successful sales.

Our House Clearance department has, like everyone else, been contending with a little bit of snow which seems to slow everything down but it was the cold that none of us liked!!

However February’s end of month sale was another good one here at Windsor Auctions and we were delighted to be able to help several new customers achieve great prices for items that they had consigned.

The hardest fought contest on the day was for Four Beswick Hackney ponies with multiple phone lines, lots of internet bidders and plenty of interest in the room which is where the final bid came from for £1420.

  

Our silver selection at the beginning of the auction, one of our traditional strengths, did very well, with all sorts of great prices being achieved for a wide range of objects, these from Tiffany sold well.

Furniture continued to make a comeback from a selling perspective, if not necessarily achieving huge prices at least it is now selling.

Our range of lovely clocks did very well all going above reserve.

A number of oil paintings found new homes along with a selection of vintage scientific equipment, which we suspect is now more decorative and collectable than it is functional.

As ever coins sold well, we are always looking for more, and were shipped around the world to buyers who watch us regularly for banknotes and coins.

As we say every month but we really do mean it the atmosphere is what makes our sales and we are grateful for all those who come out and see us on sale day, viewing days and bid online. We take what we do seriously but it doesn’t mean that auction day has to lack interaction and some fun can be had.
