Charity Auctions A New Approach

Over the course of a year the team at Windsor Auctions and our sister auction house, Lyme Bay Auctions help out at lots of charity auctions and we are delighted to help worthwhile causes raise funds whether it be at their annual fundraiser or charity balls. Throughout 2017 we will no doubt do much of the same, but we would like to offer an alternative. Let us use our Auction Houses to raise money by selling items donated to your charity by your supporters and well wishers. The Auctions will be hosted online with our partners at the-saleroom.com as well as live at our Auction House and there will be no charge to the charity. The charity gets whatever the hammer price is of the item. If you wish to discuss this fundraising opportunity why not give us a call on 01753 868076 We very much look forward to helping you and your charity.    ...

Child Autism UK Fundraiser

Harry and Simon, our Auctioneers, were delighted to be on hand to host the auction for this fabulous charity. What a great group of people and what a great selection of auction items. The trip to BAFTA was a once in a lifetime opportunity and we very much hope that the successful bidder enjoys their evening. However the most generous bidding for a pair of tickets for the cricket match at a thousand pounds was great news for all. The prancing Viking horse demonstration will stay with us for sometime!! If you feel like you would like to learn more about the excellent work that these people do and the amazingly supportive group of individuals involved then follow this link. We very much look forward to next years...

Windsor Auctions Launch A Monthly General Sale

Having very successfully, over the last six years, grown our Antiques and Collectables sale we were delighted to start an extra sale each month from the middle of October. Our first General Sale which saw all sorts of furniture and other household odds and ends selling to a small but dedicated audience, and the night was a happy success.  However post auction sales saw the sale prove to pass expectations and we will now be looking forward to another sale on the 16th November, the sale starts at 6pm and viewing is all day. Why was this expansion in sales possible? Well it was all thanks to our final premises move. Having been in two other premises on the Vansittart Estate this year we are now settled for a long stay at unit 18B. Slightly tongue in cheek we do say if you cannot find us, look for the sign, we promise it is on the wall. Or if you go to our old premises……we are behind...

What a Wide Variety A Month Brings

This month has seen us visit a wide range of houses and we have met a lot of interesting people but what always amazes us is the staggering array of items that come to us to be sold. We have raided the cellar of one client and are offering a number of great wines in our sale on June 25th including nine bottles of 1964 Chateau Latour. We then were lucky enough to have a folder containing a selection of money used in the Prisoner of War camps of WWII, now these historical items made us all pause for a moment to take stock. One client delivered all sorts of Chinese ceramics and other associated items to us for a private collection which is being slowly dismantled and which we are delighted to be helping with the sale of. One item that has really caught everyone’s imagination is a museum quality model ship, which we are delighted to be offering in our auction. In between times we have managed to attend some and conduct a number of charity auctions for a wide variety of causes and we are really looking forward to hitting the road to do the yearly fundraising for the RNLI on the Cobb in Lyme Regis. As we prepare for our next move to bigger premises we look forward to welcoming even more interesting items to our...

Windsor Auctions Onwards and Upwards

Following our move at the beginning of the year business has continued to get busier and busier here at Windsor Auctions, our dreams of an even bigger auction house are slowly evolving as we could fill most spaces available to us, many times over.   The wide variety of items that we are seeing on a daily basis and the volume of houses we are clearing for our customers means that we are now looking at increasing the frequency of our sales, followed by specialist sales.   It is not all about clients consigning large volumes of items sometimes just one or two can bring in great returns.   A recent success with a pair of Meissen plates that have been tucked away for some years, had a sale price of £3,100 plus buyers commission.   When auctioneers Harry and Simon are not selling items at the two auction houses, with our sister house in Devon they have been lucky enough to bring their unique talents to bear at a variety of charity auctions this year and are booked for many more over 2016. They are very much looking forward to supporting The Prince Phillip Trust at Ascot Racecourse and of course the RNLI auction on the Cobb at Lyme Regis, where they will be supported by the Red Arrows!!   We are all look forward to sharing news and anecdotes on a weekly basis through our new news section and please keep checking back for all sorts of updates on what is going...
